Art for The Journey had a fun night of painting with 17 staff members from Veracity, an IT and consulting firm in Richmond, last Monday, June 12th.
The event took place at our Independence Golf Club studio in Midlothian. Veracity brought dinner and we brought the paint!
Jamie Wigginton, Art for The Journey’s Program Coordinator, led the session, demonstrating the steps to creating a beautiful picture of the Richmond skyline. She was assisted by Cindy Paullin, our Volunteer Coordinator, and volunteers Nancy Engleman and Theresa Halpin.
For many, this was their first painting experience. With lot’s of encouragement and a glass of wine, everyone bravely met the challenge.
Little by little, the city of Richmond emerged from the canvas.
Some added a dynamic sky reminiscent of a Van Gogh painting. Each person gave their work a creative part of themselves.
